About these terms

Thaw is provided by Company name ("we", "us"). By using Thaw, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Thaw.

Who can use Thaw

You must be 18 or over. Thaw is for your personal use only, and your account is just for you.

What Thaw is, and isn't

Thaw is a self-help coaching app that uses AI to suggest ways to rebuild connection in your relationship.

• It is not therapy, counselling, or medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
• Its replies are generated by AI. They can be wrong, and they're based only on what you tell it.
• It can't guarantee any outcome. We can't promise your relationship will recover.
• You're responsible for your own decisions and actions.

If things are serious, we encourage you to speak to a qualified counsellor or therapist. That can help even if only you attend.

Your safety

Thaw isn't an emergency service. If you or anyone else is in danger, call 999 in the UK or 911 in the US.

If you're afraid of your partner, or she controls your money, phone or friendships, contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline (UK, 0808 2000 247) or the National Domestic Violence Hotline (US, 1-800-799-7233). If you're struggling, Samaritans are available on 116 123 in the UK, or call or text 988 in the US.

Where Thaw detects that a situation may be unsafe, it will point you to specialist help rather than give relationship advice.

Using Thaw respectfully

Thaw is built on respect and no pressure. You agree not to use it to:

• monitor, track, pressure, harass or intimidate anyone;
• contact or pursue someone who has asked for space or no contact, or break any court order;
• share anything unlawful, or information about other people beyond what you need to get help;
• misuse, copy, reverse engineer or interfere with Thaw or its AI.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Subscriptions and free trial

• New users get a free trial. After it ends, your subscription starts automatically at $19.99 a month, or the local equivalent shown in the app store, unless you cancel.
• Payment is taken by Apple or Google through your app store account.
• Your subscription renews each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your app store account settings. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• If we change the price, we'll tell you in advance, and the change won't apply until your next renewal.

UK consumers: when you start your subscription, you ask us to give you access straight away. You agree that this means you lose the 14-day right to cancel for digital content once access begins. Your other legal rights are unaffected.

Your content

What you write in Thaw belongs to you. You give us permission to process it only to provide and secure the service, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you're entitled to share what you write. Please share only what you need about other people.

Our content

Thaw, including its design, text, name and logo, belongs to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app while your account is active.

Changes and availability

We may update, change or pause features to improve Thaw or for legal or safety reasons. We'll tell you about important changes to these terms before they take effect.

Ending your use

You can stop using Thaw and delete your data at any time from inside the app. Remember to cancel your subscription in your app store settings too.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Otherwise, we're not responsible for decisions you make, for how your relationship turns out, or for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your local courts.
